As native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Donald received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he made the Dean’s List and was an editor for several of the school’s publications.

Donald earned his law degree from Louisiana State University where he participated in national moot court competitions and also did legislative research work to revise the state agricultural code.

After passing the bar in Louisiana, Donald worked extensively on voting rights projects in his home state before moving to Dallas, Texas. In Dallas, he worked several years with Legal Services of North Texas, concentrating his efforts in the areas of employee rights, disability law and federal impact litigation. While employed at Legal Services, several cases in which he was lead counsel were considered significant enough to be included in various federal case reporters.

Donald also served clients while employed as a Houston staff attorney for Binder & Binder doing nation-wide representation of claimants in Social Security Disability Law.
