Biography

Mr. Rubin grew up in New England until his family, of Argentine descent, settled in the vicinity of Houston, Texas, in 1990.  Mr. Rubin was raised in a bi-cultural environment and, as a first generation American, exhibited the motivation necessary to excel both, as student and as an athlete, winning notable long-distance running events throughout a period of four years.

In 2003 he graduated cum laude from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, holding a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and having consistently made the Dean’s list for the period 2000-2002.  In 2004, he gained admission to the University of Tulsa College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he actively participated as a staff member of the Energy Law Journal, publishing case reviews related to political and environmental issues.  As a law student in Tulsa, he became a Judicial Intern to The Honorable Gregory K. Frizzell, from the Tulsa County Court House, assisting Judge David. L. Peterson with research in drug-related cases, and cases involving the loss of judicial immunity in drug courts by Oklahoma Supreme Court Judges. To diversify his training, he became a visiting student at the University of Houston Law Center, gaining admission to the State Bar of Texas in 2008. Throughout 2008, Mr. Rubin served as Assistant District Attorney at the Smith County District Attorney’s Office in Tyler, Texas, where he held the position of Misdemeanor Prosecutor, obtaining valuable experience in plea negotiations, witness preparation, trial preparation, probation revocation, and Justice of the Peace trials.  In 2009 he took the position of Criminal Defense Attorney at The Steinmann Law Firm, in The Woodlands, Texas, where he became responsible for the Misdemeanor and Felony Criminal Division.  In such a capacity, he conducted intake of cases, plea negotiations with the District Attorney’s Office, trial preparation, motions to adjudicate or suppress, and drafted legal memoranda.

Mr. Rubin currently resides in Houston. His fluency as a Spanish speaker and his understanding of Latin American cultures enrich the services we can provide to our clients.
