December 04, 2019 - Dozens of high blood pressure medication recall lawsuits have already been filed against manufacturers of certain generic high blood pressure medications—losartan, irbesartan, valsartan, amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide. Many of these high blood pressure medications have been found to be tainted with NDMA, NDEA, NMBA and DMF—all known carcinogens, which can potentially cause cancer and liver issues. The FDA is overseeing the widening recall for drugs which may have been taken by millions of Americans. One valsartan lawyer is attempting to combine about 50 valsartan lawsuits with over half of those alleging they were diagnosed with cancer after using the recalled blood pressure medications.
Companies named in the lawsuits include Teva Pharmaceuticals, Aurobindo Pharma USA, Mylan NV, and CVS Health Corporation, along with many others. One plaintiff, Priscilla Kleinman, alleges there is more NDMA in a single contaminated pill than a person would likely consume in a month or more, otherwise. Another valsartan lawyer noted that “one pill is the equivalent of consuming 30 pounds of bacon.” The FDA believes that for every 8,000 consumers who took valsartan, there may be at least one additional cancer diagnosis.
It is possible there will be class action lawsuits for the high blood pressure medications which were tainted with NDMA, NDEA, NMBA and DMF, as well as individual personal injury lawsuits related to the high blood pressure medication recall. A valsartan class action lawsuit was filed in April in New Jersey on behalf of those who took the tainted medications but may not exhibit symptoms for many years.

A complete list can be found on the FDA website at: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/search-list-recalled-angiotensin-ii-receptor-blockers-arbs-including-valsartan-losartan-and.
