Why Should I Hire Sullo & Sullo Attorneys to Fight My Traffic Ticket?

Have You Recently Received a Traffic Ticket and Don’t Know What to Do?

If you have recently received a traffic ticket and you are trying to make a decision about who to hire to fight the charges against you, you have come to the right place. The Law Firm of Sullo & Sullo has provided some helpful information below to assist you in making an informed decision about your case:

You Have a Lot at Stake – Don’t Trust Just Anyone!

TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS IN TEXAS ARE A SERIOUS MATTER. IN ADDITION TO THE POTENTIAL ASSESSMENT OF HEAVY FINES, THESE VIOLATIONS CAN HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Loss of Your Driver’s License

Traffic violations can result in the suspension and/or loss of your driver’s license. The Texas Department of Public Safety adds points to your license for most traffic violations. It only takes a small number of violations to result in enough points to cause the loss of your license.

Higher Insurance Rates

Traffic violations can significantly raise your insurance rates. Current insurance law allows companies to impose major increases in premiums for those individuals convicted of traffic violations, sometimes by as much as fifty percent (50%).

Loss of Employment

Commercially licensed drivers in the state of Texas are at risk for losing their employment if they receive a traffic citation. This is because employers of commercial drivers are subject to insurance rate increases based on their drivers’ records. Employers have an incentive to employ and retain drivers with driving records that are clean and to terminate and remove drivers driving records that are not.

Why the Law Firm of Sullo & Sullo Right for You:

All of these potential consequences resulting from a traffic violation conviction can be expensive and damaging, and should encourage you to challenge your traffic citation.

The skilled and experienced attorneys at Sullo & Sullo will be there to fight for you if you do.

The Law Firm of Sullo & Sullo handles a variety of traffic violations, including, but not limited to:

Driving without Insurance (Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Responsibility); Driving with a Suspended License; Running a Red Light; Stop Sign Violations; Failure to Yield Right of Way; Illegal Turns; Speeding; Reckless Driving; and Drunk Driving (Driving While Intoxicated)

When it comes to fighting traffic violation charges for our clients, our goal is to get these charges dismissed and to prevent any traffic violation convictions from ever becoming part of our clients’ driving records.

The cliché “Patience is a virtue”, stands and holds true for me on July 3, 2013. Sometime in March of 2013, I was pulled over for “allegedly speeding” on 610 and Stella Link. Officer Green was the HPD officer that pulled me over for going “76 in a 60”. At that moment I knew he must have mistaken me for the other vehicle that was weaving in and out of traffic and going faster than I was. I am the person that has a morning routine and consistently sets my cruise control every day I go to work, just to avoid getting pulled over.

As soon as the officer pulled up next to me and asked me for my license and insurance, he asked me what my emergency was, and he asked me why was I speeding. I told him that I was not speeding, it was the person in front of me who was weaving in and out of traffic. At that moment I guess he felt that I was questioning his authority and he wrote me a ticket.

As soon as I got to work I called Sullo and Sullo, LLP to get this ticket taken care of. My court hearing was reset to July 3, 2013. There I met with Attorney Donald W. Jenkins and he reassured me that he will do everything he can to try to get this ticket dismissed.
One by one, other tickets were slowly getting dismissed. I was told that my officer would not arrive to court until after 10:00. And sure enough he did. Officer Green was meticulously known to appear in court when summoned.

We then were dismissed for lunch, and the amount of people that remained in the court room was about 15 people. Most of the defendants there were ticket holders from Officer Green. So we knew that this officer was not about to back down. Little did this officer know that I was not about to let him win this case. I knew my innocence and I was determined to prove this in the eyes of the court.

The defense attorneys were back at work negotiating with the prosecuting attorney and slowly, more and more clients were being dismissed. I was the final witness in the court room. My attorney, Donald Jenkins, continued to negotiate with the prosecutor. The prosecuting attorney’s plea bargain was for me to take defensive driving, and my attorney refused, because Attorney Jenkins believed that I was innocent and he was confident that he could get my ticket dismissed.

It is now 3:00pm, on July 3, 2013 (a day before the 4th of July holiday), and the Honorable Judge calls the jurors to enter the room. Attorney Jenkins and I were ready to prove my innocence. I was not going out without a fight, because I know that the HPD laser systems are not 100% accurate and I knew on that March morning I was not speeding. We were ready for trial.
The prosecuting attorney knew that attorney Jenkins and I was not leaving without a trial and so he called to dismiss my case for insufficient amount of evidence.

The moral to the story is to be patient, confident, and make sure that the evidence proven in court suffices enough to prove someone guilty.
I would like to thank Attorney Donald Jenkins and Sullo and Sullo for believing in my innocence and proving that being patient sometimes is the key to success.

The courts intentionally make things difficult and time consuming on the citizens so that people become frustrated with the process and pay their fines. Results like these are not uncommon as long as our clients are patient and willing to let the process occur. I am happy we were able to get your case dismissed!
