A voluntary recall was issued for both devices in July, 2012, due to the potential risks associated with the implants, such as Stryker hip metallosis and Stryker hip cobalt and chromium poisoning.

Stryker Hip Metallosis and the Onset of Headaches, Memory Loss, Vertigo, and Other Neurological Issues

July 3, 2015 - If you are a consumer who was implanted with a Stryker Rejuvenate or ABGII metal hip implant, then you are likely aware of the many dangers associated with these two implants. A recall was issued for the ABGII and the Rejuvenate in July, 2012, following a significant number of adverse event reports. Many of the patients had developed Stryker hip metallosis as well as symptoms of Stryker hip cobalt and chromium poisoning.

Stryker Hip Litigation Update for New Mexico Residents

July 02, 2015 - The Problems with the Stryker Rejuvenate/ABGII Hip Implants: The Stryker Rejuvenate/ABGII hip implant contains a cobalt and chromium neck positioned inside a metal stem, which can present a risk of metallosis and metal poisoning for recipients. Stryker Rejuvenate/ABGII hip fretting and corrosion was found to occur in the two devices, leading to the generation of microscopic metal ions.
